JVM Trust was started in the year 1974 and the college started in the year 2001 by a group of enterprising visionaries with a far-reaching vision that laid a firm foundation for the institution. The college which began with a humble beginning with just 12 students, has now recorded an exponential growth and is now a full-fledged co-educational institution functioning in two shifts with 9 UG courses, 4 PG courses and a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry. College has the Study Center of YCMOU which offers BCA and MCA programs. Today we cater to around 4000 students including degree and junior, providing holistic development.
STATUTORY DECLARATION ON RTI ACT
The Right to Information Act, 2005 (22 of 2005) has been enacted by the Parliament and has come into force from 15 June, 2005. This Act provides right to information for citizens to secure access to information under the control of public authorities in order to promote transparency and accountability in the working of every public authority. According to UGC guidelines all Universities and Colleges established by law made by Parliament or by State Legislature or by notification by the appropriate Government or owned, controlled or substantially financed directly or indirectly by funds provided by the Government shall come within the purview of a Public Authority under this Act. Since JNAN VIKAS MANDAL’S Mohanlal Raichand Mehta College of Commerce, Diwali Maa College of Science, Amritlal Raichand Mehta College of Arts, Dr. R.T. Doshi College of Computer Science is “Self Financing” category, Section 4(1) (b) of RTI Act 2005 is applicable for college. Full text of the act is available on the website https://rti.gov.in/. Our college is a “College of co-education” which is registered under society act by Govt. of Maharashtra. The College has a Governing Body which runs as per rules and regulations made by the Govt. of Maharashtra from time to time. All the cells or committees of the institution are under Statutory Bodies and comes under section 4(1) (b) of RTI Act 2005. The applications under the RTI Act along with a postal order/demand draft for Rs.10/- obtained in favour of JNAN VIKAS MANDAL’S MEHTA DEGREE COLLEGE, may be sent to the Public Information Officer (PIO) or handed over in his office. All the information about the college under section 4(1)(b) of RTI Act 2005 is available for the public and it can be obtained by any citizen of India.
